So I ordered some stuff from scuba toys two days ago now and they still have not billed my credit card. I was wondering that since they had to special order some of the gear and its not all there to ship yet if that could be why? I'm not real concerned but I guess this is the first time ive ordered something and wasnt charged for it right away.

I can't speak for ScubaToys but many etailers don't actually charge until the product ships in order to better comply with their merchant providers. Generally these companies will hold the money when you order, making it look like you paid but the charge doesn't actually go through until the product is handed to some guy in a brown shirt. Of course this could be a completely different reason... if you're worried about the order not having gone through I'd suggest dropping them an email tomorrow.

ScubaToys are the best online store I've used. They are probably doing just what you and Ted suspected and not charging you until they ship the goods.

What did they tell you when you asked them? They have a good reputation.

I work for a large e-commerce company and all they should do is hold the funds on your CC until the product is shipped. Normal hold time on the funds is 7 days, however that can change depending on the bank. If their hold expires they will request the hold again until the order is fulfilled. Once it is shipped they will charge you during their daily settlement run with the bank. If they charge you before it is shipped I think it might be an FTC violation, but I could be wrong. I would not be worried; this is just good e-commerce business practices. Once the product leaves the shipping doc it is yours and you should be change then, not before hand…

The last thing you have to worry about is scubatoys. They have their S__t together.

What everyone else said.

Also, I had the same thing happen when I ordered my gear. No charges for a few days while the gear came in (some of it was not Scubatoys normal gear and had to be special ordered). I saw charges appear on a Wednesday, and UPS show up with all of our gear on Thursday. All hail Scubatoys!

No need to worry. We live just a few miles from ScubaToys, and have spent a lot of time in the shop. I know that they do NOT charge your card until the order ships, as has been stated in the previous posts.
