I'm from Texas but have been to the Florida panhandle quite a bit this summer. The Scuba Shack out of Pensacola provided such a GREAT experience for us "out-of-towners." Not only was the wreck diving great, but the crew was really laid back (I loved when the Captain put on his chef hat and started grillin up some dogs) and fostered a great atmosphere. Saw an awesome frog fish at the Tex Edwards - tons of bait fish and 4 barracuda looking for lunch. The Pete Tide II was a lot of fun to explore also, tons of nooks and crannies to swim around in - a light is a good idea. It was also enjoyable to watch the video that was shot that morning during our dives in the shop before we all left for the day. Highly recommend!

Scuba shack is great! The people there are very nice and a lot of fun. I highly recommend Chris and the Tec Rec if anyone gets the chance, especially if you spear fish. He knows the sites where the fish are and runs a very fun boat.

You forgot to mention the hand cranked ice cream.
