Well, I had a terrific Trip (Solo Traveler) to Mexico once again after a 3.5 year absence. I spent 6 days in Cozumel and 4 days in Playa Del Carmen. I dove 3 days with Aldora, they're an excellent shop and the parkas provided after diving were a welcome perk as well as the huge tank provided (I'm a big guy/semi gas-pig), They were a bit pricier that I was used to, however I could walk to their dock instead of doing a taxi run to DWM so it wound up being about the same, but more dive time.
The Port was closed the first two days I was in Cozumel. I flew direct to CZM from YYZ (Toronto) on Wesjet. Stayed at the Vista Del Mar. I dove with my own gear and camera (Canon A710IS 7.1 MP/640x480 video).
I saw my pair of reef sharks in Cozumel, They were about 75 Yards away near the surface at Columbia. I saw quite a few turtles and a couple of spotted Eagle Rays. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.
I then moved Playa Del Carmen to do a Cenote Dive (Dos Ojos, with just me and the Cavern Guide, I highly recommend to do this at least once) as well as the shark dive (non-feeding, I would do this dive again in a heartbeat). I used Abyss Divers on this trip and stayed at the Blue Parrot. (I don't do all-inclusives).
You're gonna want to see the video below for the shark dive in PDC. Me (IT Geek), two Canadian Military guys (out of Edmonton) and the two dive masters, just hanging around, watching the ladies hang out... Oh and Here Kitty Kitty Kitty...
