I am trying to find some of these to put on my den fireplace mantel but can't seem to find any on the net. (I just bought a Citzen's dive watch that came in a plastic replica of a scuba tank, which gave me this idea)
Specificaly I would like to find miniatures scuba tanks, divers & equipment suitable for display. Any ideas?

Have you tried E-Bay?? Usually, you can find a little bit of everything there!! :D

Yes I have tried Ebay....the first place I looked..... Thanks for the reply but they don't seem to have any display-type diving things either.

Hmm... I think that I have a website at home.. Ill see if I can find it for you when I get there...

JahJahwarrior:
Just rebuild your fireplace. Make it oh, 5 times as big as it is now. Then you can hang your own scuba gear on the mantle and it will look comparatively miniature.

Just a thought....:)

LOL yeah. Thats a great idea!! ;) ;) ;)

Great idea JahJahwarrior........Then I could just flood the whole basment so it would really be underwater! (Kinda tough to keep the fireplace lit though????)

No problem with the fireplace, just run a pipe up from under the tektonic plates. Matches go out underwater. Even gas won't burn underwater very well. Burning hot magma though, has a pretty good track record. This way, you won't even need a wetsuit! Great, you can put your wetsuit on top of the mantle too!

The only problem is you will look at miniature as your gear. If you can afford to put in the pipe for the magma though, you can probably afford plastic surgery tomake yourself 25 feet tall. Oh, you'll also need a heart transplant. A giraffe's heart might work. (tallest man in the world died of an infection becuase his blood didn't circulate well, and he was only around 10 feet tall)

At this rate, it might be easier to cast them out of brass yourself. If you want to be DIR though, go with stainless steel.

check out ebay and you can find these for sale also. Or buy some "old vintage gear" to put up also.

You know......I thought about those hardhat minatures Mike but all my diving (I've been diving since 1969) has been with SCUBA & I wanted this display to represent my interests & hobby. (The closest I've ever come to hardhat diving is watching movies of navy salvage divers raising the Pearl Harbor wrecks off Ford Island) I want this to be about SCUBA with maybe a minor in lobster hunting (I live in Massachusetts) or Mike Nelson!<G> (there are alot of Sea Hunt artifacts on Ebay....but most are books, magazines or photos)
