The Texas Rangers are “assisting” KCSO in the investigation now. Hopefully it’s the PIU - Public Integrity Unit. I’m sure multiple folks have filed requests with them and the FBI Dallas field office.

What’s rule number one? Don’t hold you’re breath .
 
I don't think Texas Rangers have an issue charging a fellow officer; that is the sole purpose for them being brought into a case so the local officers are not the ones running the investigation.
 
The indifference this person shows towards peoples lives is inexcusable. At the very least he should immediately be banned from all of the certifying agencies, NAUI, PADI, etc...

Not yet, it seems. It's only been 2 months and 5 news stories, so...

Scubatoys is toast, it's only a matter of time. If not the public backlash, the civil suit will mop up whatever is left. You can bet your ass that old video will be introduced by the family's lawyers. The shop also has the big insurance policy, so that's what you go after to get a multi million dollar payout. As Joe said, "his insurance company just settles". I'm sure they love him.
