Scuba Pro Jet Sport Fins Question.

My Son has a pair of these fins and they also fit my 'rock-boots' well, but, when I have looked to go and buy a pair they seem to have a very different 'foot-box' and they have (what looks like) an insert making the 'box' much smaller.

Is this an older / newer design and / or is the 'insert' removable to get back to the original foot size ?

The "insert" isn't meant to be used when wearing the fins, they are only used when storing the fins to keep the shape of the foot pocket and prevent their getting crushed in storage. They are often lost or tossed in the garbage bin
