Would there be any interest in petitioning the New Mexico State Legislature to establish a Scuba Park at Elephant Butte (or another lake). I think we could use the Scuba Park at Tenkiller Lake in Oklahoma as an example, and possibly emulate it. Let me know what you think.

Hey Jim!

Have you ever dove EB? It's quite nasty....... bad viz, LOTS of small water craft that make it difficult and dangerous for divers, fish hooks everywhere.

Not to poopoo the idea, since there might be a place that would work somewhere on the lake but I would prefer some other location. Maybe Ute Lake?

I haven't dove EB, but when OK established Tenkiller SP they did a complete cleanup of the park area, placed underwater attractions, and prohibited any activity except diving and swimming. It seems to have worked for them, as the area is clearly marked as restricted. Just some additional thoughts.

However, Ute may be an even better idea.
