Hello, people!!!
Hope you are all well. I dive almost every weekend in Glocester, MA (close to an hour from Boston) since this is what my logistics and schedule allow me. You can come and see for yourself. You can even snorkle around , sice the beaches are snorkle-friendly. Let me know if I can be of any help, though remember I'm not an expert yet. Take care and welcome. Victor

I am a newbie to the scuba world. I dove once in St Maarten, loved it, and want to get my certification. I am looking into a YMCA course here in Boston, but want to know just how frightening it is to dive in the NE Atlantic. Anyone have any insight?

Hello K,

Have you ever read the book Shadow Divers? It's about experienced divers diving on wrecks of the coast of New Jersey. I would highly recommend it. I'm a new diver from So Cal, but I am grateful to be a cold water diver because it's way more hardcore diving here than in tropical locations. It's more challenging and I'm gaining experience fast!

One of the big challenges here is shore diving - getting out through the surf. Check out this picture:
