Man, after years of being a southern rock, blues....rockin' guitar related music person...I've actually been listening to a lot of Opera on my Sirius XM radio here. I've come to the realization that listening to my old music put me in my past....brought back a lot of memories. And although I still love the music, opera puts me in a "neutral" zone mentally. And I can really envision dropping into the quiet blue, the nice flowing tempo of fish and soft corals....and a big assed cubera swimming right up to me and turning sideways....yeah. Opera. Who woulda thunk it?
I know what you mean. I'd like to have some a cappella choirs singing to me underwater. Like Russian men's choirs. One of my recent favorite works is O Magnum Mysterium. Would love to dive on a wreck in the dark with that playing!

More Canadian rock: Here's a dark song about a shipwreck. Or about a relationship represented by a shipwreck. …Pretty bad relationship from the sounds of it. "Four thousand men died in the water / here:" The Tragically Hip, "Nautical Disaster"

Here's a fun British indiepop song! With a video set at some sort of scuba-themed house party: The Wombats, "1996"

The refrain goes "Check out the crabs in the bucket." Good enough for me. k-os, "Crabbuckit"
