Not quite Chelmsford but just down the road you have Kent diving...competitively priced kit... not too far from the M25... but a word of warning, join a club, get some advice and try someone else's kit before buying too much...

i've had the good fortune to meet members of Bilericay dive club (a BSAC club) on numerous occasions. they are a fun loving experienced bunch of people who love their diving and i would be happy to recommend them to anyone.
