Galileo Maritime Academy is Asia's premier maritime training facility, located in Phuket Thailand, the home of Superyachts in Asia. As well as being accredited and approved by the UK government Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), we also have the industry experience and network connections to assist those looking to get a start in this exciting and adventurous industry.
The Superyacht industry is rapidly growing, as is the demand for trained, qualified and professional crew in Phuket during the high season. A position on board can be highly rewarding, allowing crew to enjoy the following benefits:

Year-on-year, the quantity of Superyachts coming to Phuket in the high season increases. As the leading international maritime training academy in Asia Pacific, we aim to ensure demand for new crew candidates interested in embarking on a Superyacht career path is met.
As dive industry professionals generally prove highly successful when transitioning to this industry, we are reaching out now to those who are looking for a change and wish to combine their dive experience with the following roles:
• Steward / Stewardess
• Deckhand
• Engineer
• Chef
Applicants must have:
• Sense for excellent service
• Hunger for adventure
• Good command of English
Required certification for working aboard Superyachts:
• Valid STCW certification
• Certificate of Competence (CoC)
If you fulfil the above requirements, are fit and present well, you could be the right person for a Superyacht crew role.

The 8 day Superyacht Crew Introductory course provides graduates with the mandatory, internationally recognised qualifications, necessary to apply for their first job on board….
The 15 day Superyacht Deckhand / Steward(ess) course offers graduates: return flights to Phuket, 16 nights’ accommodation, food & beverage, on-board experience, 6 world-class qualifications, career guidance and more...
It is also an advantage if you have previous experience from any of the following:• Restaurants, hotels and hospitality
• The travel and tourism industry
• Service and kitchen (cook / chef, catering, waiter / waitress)
• Working on cruise ships or other boats
• Medical or health care (nurse, physiotherapist, masseuse etc)
• Sports, especially water sports (sailing, diving, swimming, jet skiing, etc.)
• Safety and Rescue (lifeguard, security guard, personal protection, etc.)
• Other professions in service
The opportunity to work on board a Superyacht is possible for all school leavers, graduates and those working in hospitality, sport, catering, engineering, travel and tourism.
