Death of diver, 60, called a drowning
Posted on Mon, Oct. 22, 2007
A diver found dead on the ocean floor off of Pompano Beach Sunday drowned, the Broward Medical Examiner's Office said.

Larry Starr, 60, of Pompano Beach, had been missing for about an hour when friends went looking for him in the water about a mile offshore and a half-mile south of the Pompano Beach fishing pier near Atlantic Boulevard. Starr, an experienced diver, was found 90 feet under water.

The medical examiner conducted an autopsy Monday morning and ruled his death accidental, an investigator said.

yes and all deaths ultimately result from heart failure, but what was the cause? Equipment failure?

That's exactly what I was wondering? Heart attack? Ran out of air? Equipment failure? What?

Was he diving by himself? I am assuming so from the way the article read. But you know what happens when you assume :no

Who knows, a blown O ring, a blown blood vessel, it's all speculation at this point.
