Any information on the 60 year old Texas woman that died in Cozumel as a result of a diving accident on July 11, 2015? Prayers for her family.

sorry to hear such news....condolences to family and friends...

Barbara was a lifelong resident of central Texas where she raised her family and worked as a CPA, Teacher, and most recently a Realtor. She was an avid skier, scuba diver, and loved to travel. She was also one of the early members and donors of the FRAXA Research Foundation.

Not that I have seen. Do you have more information...??

There is an obituary in the Austin American Statesman today that seems to pair up with your post.

Perhaps, but I doubt it. US obituaries often mention sports enjoyed including scuba, unless it was involved in the death. They seldom mention cause these days like they commonly used to, with exception.*

The local police mention on their Facebook page a Houston person, age 64, who drowned swimming at the El Presidente on July 10. S/he is mentioned swimming at the beach and calling to the life guard for help. Spanish to English translations often confuse genders, but the name there is given as "Jhon Engglish." I don't see anything on their FB page since the 10th of a diver?

Yes...Barbara is the lady that lost her life! Very sad! Don't know the circumstances....praying for her family!

How sad....condolences to her family and loved ones.

Thanks for posting the information on this woman's obituary. I was on the beach in the morning she died and was watching the resuscitation effort in the boat. It was a sad and sobering way to end my dive vacation. I have been thinking about this unknown person and her family since I left Cozumel.

Ok, so my searching & guess work missed.

It was certainly unfortunate for her, her travel companions, her family & loved ones, and for anyone who witnessed the incident. It's good that you care, but don't let it get you down. If you could have helped, I bet you would have - but you couldn't.

Any idea what happened?
