I'm a Fish!
If you know of anyone wanting to learn to dive, I have a Scuba class starting Tuesday evening Aug 12 at MBT Dive Center at 3920 Barrancas Ave in Pensacola .

The schedule for the class works like this:

Tuesday, Wednesday evening -- 6 p.m. to 9ish -- We'll be in Classroom.

In the classroom, we'll learn about scuba gear, how to rig it, the physiology of diving, the no-decompression dive tables, emergency procedures, etc.

Thursday, Friday evening -- 6 p.m. to 9ish -- We'll be in the Pool.

There we'll practice our in-water, scuba skills and get ready for open water diving.

Saturday, Sunday -- 7:30 a.m. to 3ish -- we'll make our open water dives and take the test.

After this, you'll be a certified diver and be ready to explore the the beautiful underwater world all over the planet.

The cost is $199 per person, and this covers all books, all pool fees, all scuba gear required for class except mask, fins, snorkel and booties. As a student you receive 10% off the cost of anything you purchase in the store. The only additional fee will come if we decide to go to Vortex Springs for one of our open water dives. There's a $19 fee to get into the springs otherwise, there are no additional fees.

If you're interested in this schedule give me a call or call the shop and ask for the next Scuba class.

I have 40 years diving experience and make my classes fun.

I’ve got a question for you and possible another student. Heck I’m thinking now I need to be put on a sales commission pay this makes about fourteen students now (joke)

Anyways back to the point, This buddy took his testing in Collage but when it came to the open water checkout dives his funds were low at the time they traveled from Ohio to Destin. It has been a couple of years now. Would you recommend he start over or could he do his checkout dives with you all? From my talking with him I believe he needs a little more than a refresher but thats my opinion. He has a few resorts dives also under his belt

If he had his card, we could do a refresher for about $99 bucks. A "referal" (starting with one shop and finishing with another) is as expensive as simple starting over, so I would just suggest that he start over. It's $199 with our shop or $179 if military and it includes all the dives and equipment except mask, fins, snorkel and booties, plus he would get the benefit of all the classroom and pool work making him a better diver. Hope that helps, Tom.

I'm going to try and talk him into starting over. Me and Shane will bring him over with us Sat. with hopes it will get his blood pumping
