Last weekend my friends dived in a nearby lake to celebrate Christmas. They took a tree as well. The weather was nice, so the water was 5 Celsius degrees and the visibility was better than they expected: about 2 meters.:)

Hahaha this is funny! Santa in water!

I'll be in Budapest for a year starting August. I'm certified PADI rescue diver with ~40 logged dives, so I'm still a beginner. I really just want to dive as much as possible. Would you happen to have any recommendations on dive shops / dive locations in Hungary or nearby countries?

Thank you so much for your help in advance!!!

Recently they closed two diving centers at nearby lakes, so I'd suggest if you want nice freshwater dive experiences go to Austria. It's our neighbour country and if you spend 2-3 days there you can have some nice dives. The closest place to do good saltwater dives is Croatia, I know there plenty of reliable dive centers who can arrange accommodation as well, but that country is more far away.
