I have two kids, 12 and 17, PADI Jr OW and OW this last summer. I am thinking of a one week scuba focussed summer camp, possibly either in the Keys or Caribbean, or of a family vacation with the same focus. Am looking for suggestions, and budget is an issue. Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations? Thanks.

If you want something more local (since you are from NY), The Scuba Connection (http:www.tscscuba.com) is offering a weeklong summer scuba camp for kids who are already OW certified. Its for kids who are 12-18, and they do it at Dutch Springs, in Bethleham PA. Below is some of the stuff I took from their website:

The dates of the camp are July 17-21 2006 and Aug. 14-18 2006

Its 5 scuba courses offered in 5 days.

Courses or dives:

Peak Performance Buoyancy
Emergency First Response
Advanced Open Water
Wreck Dive
Rescue Diver
Equipment Specialist
Navigation Dive
Excursion Dive
Deep Dive
Multilevel Dive
Night Dive

$1395.00

Ages: 12-18

Thanks. I have been looking through that forum also, but sometimes asking a question provokes even more responses. Most of what I saw on this forum was scout oriented, but I will go back and read more. Thanks again for the info, Jim
