Hey all. Thanks for allowing me on the island. I'm new to diving and bought my first pair of booties. Neosport 5MM High. They fit decent however, are they suppose to leak a little? I wear a size 13 and while the length is good, around the ankle its loose enought to take on a little water. Is this normal? Please help the scuba gear challenged......tks....:dontknow:

Let's see. The wetsuit ankles go over the booties, so if the zipper seal is good there should be minimal leakage. Unless of course water is flowing from the wetsuit into the booties such as when you pee or let some water in to cool off.

Otherwise if just using the booties for boating or diving without a wetsuit, then water will come in the top.

The water layer between your skin and the bootie warms up.

Yes they are supposed to allow water in. They are not dry boots. Allowing water in is what will keep them from killing your feet as pressure increases when you descend.
