At some point in the not super-distant future (probably within the next couple of years), I'd like to enter into the rebreather world. I think for the type of diving I do an SCR would be the way to go. I've been looking around online and can't really find any pricing for SCR's (just info stating SCR's are considerably cheaper than CCR's)...so, about how much should I expect to pay for a good-quality (not entry level, not top-of-the-line) new, complete, SCR rig? Also, about how much for training? Any help would be appreciated.

You might also consider a used Dolphin. They are no longer made, but parts are available if needed. It is a very good and dependable SCR and will cost $500-$1500. Training costs will vary, but somewhere around $500 should do it.

Doug, I haven't read much about SCRs (have read a fair bit on CCRs). Mind sharing the type of diving you're doing such that you consider SCR the answer?

Genuinely curious. Thanks.
