Scott Carpenter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was lucky enough to have known Scott Carpenter. In the early, 1970's I dove with him at Wilson's Rock, San Miguel Island, Channel Islands National Park. We dove from the Emerald, with Captain Glenn Miller at the helm. With us on that trip that I remember was Dick Anderson and Bev Morgan. All NOGI Fellows and members of the Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences.

Carpenter's life is a fascinating story. For anyone interested I would recommend his autobiography For Spacious Skies.
