Benjamin Rayner died while diving at Findochty on Moray coast | Aberdeen & North | News
A man who died while diving off the Moray coast at the weekend has been named.
Benjamin Rayner, from Lossiemouth, was diving with colleagues when he got into difficulties at Findochty.
Coastguards, RNLI, and search and rescue helicopter were involved in the rescue operation for the 38-year-old at 1pm on Sunday.
On Friday, Mr Rayner’s parents, Richard and Janet, paid tribute to their son in a statement released through police.
They said: "We're absolutely devastated by Ben's sudden and early death. He was a lovely man with a great sense of humour.
"Ben was very close to his family and very loyal to his friends. Although he moved from Cheshire to Scotland primarily to work, he enjoyed living in Lossiemouth. He loved diving and was proud to have gained his BSAC qualification.
