Well... you have to do them, don't you...?!? having a bit of new gear does not release you from the responsibility to make a clean dive.

Well if you were DIR you'd clip if off just like a stage bottle. Guess that makes too much sense for you though. ;)
edit: Or, if you still have juice and can manage your depth correctly you can still do deco while scootering as long as you stay at the depth at which you have your deco stop.

Tek Adventure Diver:
Yes i know that. lol. Im wondering where do I put the scooter

Either lay it on the bottom, use it, or clip it off....Where you clip it off will be a question of trying different options and seeing what works for you. maybe a butt or side harness D ring...

What king of config do you have?

What type of scooter?

I clip mine off to the left hip for the ascent and deco/safety stops.

Hot tips:
>Make sure you're neutral. Especially as the dive progresses, it's too easy to change depths, and not change your bouyancy accordingly. Not being neutral makes scootering more draggy and flaily.
>No danglies (always a good thing anyway) in the propwash. Danglies include your body.
>Look for your buddy about twice as much as usual.
>Turn at half your expected burn time minus 15 minutes, and work your way up over subsequent dives.
>Talk over emergencies - OOG, dead scooter, etc - first

Enjoy! The needle goes in real easy.

All the best, James
