1. PG is a good introduction for first time visitor to Philippines as it is NOT difficult to get there even by public transport.
2. Water will be cold from late Dec to early Apr. 5mm + thermal is the bare minimum for me.
3. Scandi and LBC are a bit isolated but the smallish beach is clean enough for sun worshippers. Getting out in the evening can be tricky especially on high tide.
4. With a bit more time, Anilao + PG would be better.

Nice trip report. Thanks for sharing. I was in Puerto Galera from March 20-30 and the weather (cloudy, rainy, and windy) and visibility was pretty bad. How was the viz for your diving?
Visibility (and temperatures) were variable. One muck dive (Secret Bay), the viz was 10 ft if you're being generous. Another day at Secret Bay, 30 ft viz. Some of the reef dives, we had visibility ranging from 50 ft to 150 ft (same dive!). Temperatures and currents were also variable--One dive, I think my computer log shows 87 F to 80 F on the dive, and I felt going through warm-and-cold zones... I'm turning into a wimp; I like 84 F and higher on my dives ;-)

I think I can connect my phone to my computer as a USB storage device, then, find the Sealife/Sportdiver images folder, and download the photos. I'll experiment with that. I've got something like 6 or 7 days with my phone as the camera, and 2-3 days with a borrowed Olympus TG-7.

Except you said you have only have had it properly cooked... I have definitely experienced when it was not.

So not "same for everything..." - in this case, specific to Lechon.
LOL.
Still don't get it.
You probably went to the wrong place. Quality Lechon is NOT available everywhere. You need to know where to find it.
Same for everything.
