From Official search for missing scallop diver stood down | Aberdeen and North | STV News
Emergency services have called off the search for a diver who went missing while looking for scallops off the coast of Orkney.

Roderick MacLean failed to surface from a dive off Eday on Thursday at around 3.50pm.

Extensive searches took place over the weekend to find the 33-year-old, from Finstown.
Kirkwall lifeboat, the Shetland Coastguard rescue helicopter and Grampian Police underwater unit were all involved in the search.
The dive boat which reported the man missing has also been involved in the rescue operation.

Northern Constabulary and Shetland Coastguard confirmed that the search would not be resumed on Monday.

Missing diver
THE family of a missing scallop diver in Orkney have been told of the discovery of a body.
Divers from Grampian Police underwater search unit recovered the remains from the water at London Bay off Isle of Eday.
Roderick MacLean, 33, failed to surface from a dive in the area in March.
Police were called to the scene following the report of a possible sighting of a body on Wednesday.
Divers recovered the body just after lunchtime on Thursday.
A Northern Constabulary spokesman said that the family of Mr MacLean, from Finstown in Orkney, had been informed of the circumstances.
He added: “Formal identification of the remains has not yet taken place and this may take some time. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
