Had a pretty good outing last weekend doing a charter for scallops in the Piscataqua River. Everyone went home with at least a few scallops and Reefseal and I ended up with about a pound apiece shucked. :D Water temp was around 49 and vis was pretty good. Depth of dives was 55-60 fsw on the first one and 20-40 fsw on the second with about a 30 minute SI. Didn't see scallops until you were around 40 fsw. Also found a couple of bottles worth keeping -- have been able to tentatively date them to around 1943 - 1944.

Happy Holidays!

Northeast Charter Boat with Capt. Bill Lussier and his wife Capt. Debbie Jordan on their boat Sushi Seeker. $75 per person and he'll operate all winter as long as the weather is good. Their boat will hold 6 divers comfortably. Phone is 603-235-5526 and web site is www.northeastcharterboat.com

No problem -- glad to be of assistance. I've done 2 dives with them now and their nice folks and knowledgable about the local waters, both in the river and out around the Isle of Shoals (probably more than that too, just the only dives I've done with them). Good luck....

Sounds like a really good time, would love to give that a try.

is there a permit requirement? i'm an out of towner, so no lobster permit for me, right? :(

next time i visit my sister in boston, that'd be a cool thing to try.

If there are enough people interested, maybe we could get a group from the board out for a charter. Any takers?

I'd be up for that.
