I know my fellow PPD members will happily suport this initiative and sign the petition to have Dr Giam Choo Hoo removed from CITES.

Please watch the video and sign, and encourage as many of your friends and family to sign too. I don't think anyone in their right mind can think it's acceptable to have someone with direct links to the shark fin trade as a member of a committee designed to protect sharks and other animals.

Mods, is it possible to sticky this on the front page of forums so that it gets fully viewed by all Scubaboard members, as divers we must ALL protect the oceans natural resources.

Signed, tweeted and facebooked.

Giam's conflict of interest completely undermines the impartiality that CITES needs in order to function.

Has he been removed yet??? ...so Shouldnt we put more direct pressure on CITES than a petition?

Like Guy Fawkes?

Unfortunately the chances of online petitions actually making a change is pretty small. The online community doesn't carry a lot of weight IMO. Still we try....

Signed......
