There have been a lot of problems with Epoque housings. Check out the other threads relating to Sanyo Xacti and Epoque. A lot of us have had them flood.

If you are going to buy a Sanyo, skip the 1010. It has been replaced with the much better HD2000. If you want a more traditional horizontal Sanyo camcorder, go for the FH1.

What are the housing options for the FH1?
None that I'm aware of. Stick with Sony or Canon for the most choices in conventional format video housings.

I have been shooting with the Sanyo HD-1 and epoque housing for just over a year. I enjoy the ease of use and I edit through iMovie - very simple stuff.

As for the housing - I just make sure the o-ring is clean and the mating surface is clean every time I close it. I have had zero problems in perhaps 30+ dives with the housing.

I have been using Epoque with Xacti HD2000 with 50+ dives with zero problems. Like what jridg has said, all you need to do is clean the mating surface. Actually i find this housing easier to maintain since it has only 1 o-ring. With all my cameras, I use the 3M cloth.
