Hello all!

Me and my fiance have decided to do a week at one of the Sandals Ultra Inclusive resorts in the Carribean for our honeymoon. As part of their "ultra-inclusive"ness they include free Scuba diving (2 dives/day).

We are wondering which resort(island) would have the best diving: Grand Bahama? Antigua? St. Lucia? Mexico? There is also a family type resort on Turks and Caicos - which I hear has great diving (but this would lose some of the couples-only romance of the Sandals resort)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which resort we should go to?? Been to Sandals? Haven't been to Sandals but have been diving there? I'd really appreciate any advice or comments!

Thanks and take care !

I did my first dives at the Sandals in Nassau. All I can say is AWESOME. Get them to take you to Bahama Momma. They do shark dives there.

The staff at the dive shop is great. The resort was amazing. They really treat you like kings and queens and you don't need to have a dime in your pocket while at the resort.

The bus to downtown only cost a dollar and runs on the half hour or so.

Have a ball, we did.

I'd rank the diving in the following order: St. Lucia, Nassau, with Antigua and Jamaica far behind. Currently, there are no Sandals in Mexico. The atmosphere at the Beaches sister resorts are very different - wouldn't really consider them for honeymoon atmosphere. The diving in Turks & Caicos is wonderful, but would dive independently of the resort.

For combo of romance and diving, I'd lean toward St. Lucia. While their diving is still limited (remember, it's "free"), the resorts themselves are gorgeous, the island spectacular, and the diving way above average.

Congratulations!

Only problem with Jamaica is the reefs are in really bad shape. They don't take care of them. DM I had was even swimming through the Sea Fans.

I just got back this weekend from St. Lucia. We stayed at the Sandals Halycon resort. It was excellent and we didnt want to leave. We dove three days, all the dives were good. I'd recomend it to anyone. St. Lucia is pretty far south; the water is a little darker and there arn't as many critters as say Cancun. But I'm not complaining I'd give the resort a 9 and the diving a 8 out of 10.

"We are wondering which resort(island) would have the best diving"

None. Which would have the best of that group? I'll leave that to the others as above posted.

Go to these places to have a wonderful time at an elegant resort. At a resort that also happens to offer a "taste" of diving. Do not go to Sandals expecting anything resembling a "dive resort".

Have fun, have a honeymoon, do a little diving.

Thanks for all the kind advice everyone! To Sandals St. Lucia we shall go : )

Now you get the fun task of deciding between the three resorts. Oh, those plunge pools are *so* tempting...
