ps inquiring minds want to know--Are you wearing a Canadian "Tilley Hat" in you avatar picture? sdm

No idea what it is called. Maybe 20 years ago I was skiing for a week in Park City Utah and realized I was totally frying part of my head especially with thinning and receding hair. So I went into an outdoor store and bought it. Probably a canoe hat or such. I loved it. Very comfortable and soft fabric. Breaths so also comfortable in hot muggy weather. You can wad up and it does not wrinkle and every few years my wife throws in a washing machine and it is still good but whiter. After about 10 years I somehow lost it. I searched for another year to get one just like it. Could not find the same fabric. Finally found its twin in a marine goods store in Puerto Rico which is the one I now have on. If I am outdoors walking, fishing, on a dive boat, playing with my grandson, anytime outdoors, the hat is on. I figure I have already put my dermatologist's kids through college and am trying to keep from buying their first house. On dive boats or at one of the local quarries I have had a few folks introduce themselves asking if I was Steve_C. Had some good conversations. Secondary bonus.

I have one similar (though not as good looking) for the same hair reasons. I see you also have the string/strap to hold it on while on a moving boat. Amazing what other people wear that flies off.
