We recently booked a week in San Jose del Cabos for the last week of August. Staying at the Hyatt Ziva based on great reviews and a similarly great price at the time we were planning. This is primarily a family vacation with some diving as opposed to a diving vacation (my daughter and I dive, but my wife does not).
It appears that East Cape Explorers is the only shop in San Jose del Cabos. Reviews that I have seen here on Scubaboard seem positive, but are a couple of years old. Hoping someone out there has more recent input to offer, or other operator options (if any).
I have been diving for about 15 years now, mostly in cold water in the Great Lakes (including ice diving), but also in Alaska, South Africa (Atlantic and Indian Oceans), Southern California, Cozumel, Mayan Riviera, Grenada, Bahamas, Bonaire, etc.. My daughter is Jr Rescue certified now (age 12) and has experience in Bahamas, Grenada and Bonaire in addition to her cold water training dives.
Anyway... since this is a family vacation, accommodation, food, etc. took precedence and we are now looking to work diving around that primary choices. Our diving vacations (eg Bonaire this year and Cozumel in March 2017) tend to be planned the other way around!
Any guidance on San Jose del Cabos appreciated!
