I'm dropping my son off in San Diego for Comic Con on the evening of July 22, and my Father's Day gift from my kids is that they're picking up the tab for a dive trip while I'm out there. Based on the recommends I've read in this forum, I'm leaning heavily towards the NRAD/New Hope Rock Kelp Forest trip aboard the Marissa on July 23.

They need a minimum of 4 divers for the excursion to go out (I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few people heading out for Comic Con are divers who might be interested, so that probably won't be a problem), but I'm heading out there without a dive buddy.

I'm a new diver, but smart enough to know I'm a n00b, and easy-going enough to have no problems following the directions of someone with more experience. The Marissa folks said they might be able to arrange a guide for me, for a nominal fee paid to the guide, and I'm open to that option, but I figured I'd see if anyone here on SB is interested in a couple of dives that day, and wouldn't mind buddying up with a novice.
