Salutations from Cenote`

:crossbone I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I am situated on the west coast of US / Canada and am doing a lot of ocean dives. :butnhome: Currently in the process of working towards my Divemaster Certificate. In February I am going to Playa del Carmen to holiday and do some dives off Cozumel. the reef and in the cenote`s.
Just wanted to say hi and get any advise available for Caribbean diving as this will be my first time down there.

Don't bring your drysuit if you got one.

I am also going to Playa Del Carmen..but in November, 2004...I have been there before..a must do is Hidden Worlds..you can catch a bus from the station in Playa for about $2 USD..cavern diving and ocean diving available..nice snorkeling if someone in your group does not dive..also if you go to Coz..I thought Dive w/Martin group was fantastic..did a great wreck dive, etc..

I was recently on the Maya Riviera, and wanted to check out some cenotes--but no time! Next time! Next time I also plan to get to Chinchorro Banks.

Hi Cenote and welcome to the board. I was in Playa del Carmen about a month ago and spent a week diving the cenotes with Hidden Worlds, (www.hiddenworlds.com) very good operation with great guides. You would love Dos Ojos, Bat Cave, Dreamworld, TakBeHa, Gran Cenote, Angelita.

There are lots of choices down there for ocean dives, but Dive Puerto Morelos is still a good operation with the personal touch (www.divepuertomorelos.com) or if you are staying south of Playa del Carmen, try www.akumal.com they are also a very good operation. You might want to get prices and general information from them before you go.
