I added a product labeled Salt Terminator to my dunk tank today for the first time. I have to say that I am surprised at how pleased I am with the results. There is quite a noticable difference in my equipment. While I thought the price was a little prohibitive, this is defintely an item I plan to continue to use.

how does it claim to work?

Fly N Dive:
how does it claim to work?

Per the Lable:

Salt Terminator dissolves salt and leaves a protective rust and corrosion inhibiting sheen on any surface exposed to salt water or air....safe on rubber...safe for dive gear...non toxic.

This stuff rocks.

I got some stuff called Salt Away a while back for my boat. It works the same way you mentioned above. While I was reading the instructions I noticed that it also said it was great for dive gear. I've been washing my gear with it for several months now and it seems to be doing a good job preventing salt build up on all my gear but just as you also said it ain't cheap. I think it was something like $25 per quart. It is highly consentrated so you don't need much which makes it last a little longer.

As I understand it salt is a salt and hence any acid should dissolve it. Obviously u need an acid thats not going to decorate your favourite BCD with burn holdes but something like Citric acid should do the same trick. I know I've used it form time to time before and u should be bale to pick it up fairly cheap.
