Hi everyone! I've been lurking about, soaking up knowledge here for the past few weeks, so I figured I'd go ahead and introduce myself. I'm brand new to the board, and brand new to SCUBA. I've always wanted to get certified, but it was always one of those things that get put off. After a week long vacation in Curacao a while back, I felt like a complete tool snorkeling around the lagoon like a sucker, seeing divers enjoying all the real fun as they'd head out. I'm planning a trip to the Maldives with the wife in July, and we decided that this time we're going to be those divers being envied by the snorkelers! We're in the process of getting our PADI OW certs, all we need are the open water dives. I recently purchased a Halcyon BP/W setup from a member here, along with an Atomic reg setup. I'm now in the market for a nice, simple, wrist-mounted dive computer, and it looks like the N2ition will do everything I want it to do.
Alright, I'm babbling now. Basically, my name is Jose, I'm from Philadelphia originally, and I've lived/worked for a US military contractor in Kuwait for the past 3.5 years. I'm brand new to all of this, enjoying every moment of learning it, and I can't wait to one day become a seasoned veteran.
I've read around the board, and everyone seems genuinely friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to learn lots from everyone!
