Anyone have any direct experience with Sailfish Scuba out of Key Largo. Seem to get great Tripadvisor reviews but I can't seem to find anything on SB. Prices seem a bit high but I do like the in water guide that provides photos as well. Small boat with only two novice divers (myself and 13yr old son) and wife with two daughters snorkeling looks intriguing. Would definitely be hiring a dive guide to assist with our inexperience so the extra cost is really not that bad.

I can't speak for how good of a dive operation they are - Key Largo is not my usual area of operations and I don't know the myriad recreational operations that well. From your descriptions it sounds like it would be a good fit for a mixed novice diver/snorkeler trip.

I will advise you to drop by Mr. C's next door - an after-dive ice cream there became a habit when I used to work down on the Key :D

If you dive with them, please do report your findings. They are one of two shops down here that I have not dove with yet.

Will definitely report on whoever we go out with. Was really hoping someone from the board was familiar with them. We will probably only get one day of diving in and want to make sure we get the best op possible. I have followed the usual suspects on here for operators and do have a couple that are on the short list. We certified in 2011, check dives were with Slate (almost had it worked out with you as our referral instructor but couldn't make it work for some reason). Want to try some different ops just for difference sake.

For the record, I haven't heard anything negative about them and would dive with them if I were ever invited.

Pete. You're supposed to say "Wink, wink, nudge, nudge." at the end of the sentence.

That should help.

Actually, I get all the diving I need down here. I just wanted to make sure that people know that I am not avoiding them for any other reason.

If we decide to use them mebbe I'll put in a good word for you Pete. :eyebrow:

I haven't been diving with them as a customer, but I have worked with both Chis and Jen in the past. They worked in the dive industry here in Key Largo for years. They moved off to St Tomas for a while and came back to the "Rock" and opened their own shop. They have a small shop but seem to always be busy. Their boat comes by here everyday and the pasangers are always smiling and waving as they pass.
