Hello:

I have a gold anodized safety valve on the water separator on a mako / bauer k14.

This safety valve contains a series of disks inside the valve housing. The disks are very slightly conical. There is also a small adjustment screw in the threaded retaining disk on the top of the valve. On the bottom is a tiny spring loaded plunger. It does not have a large spring like many other safety valves. I suspect the disks are serving the same function as a spring.

This safety valve has started leaking and I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this type of safety valve and how to adjust it.

Thanks.

They are dirt cheap, and come from Aqua Enviroment. Adjustment I’d easy, loosen the lock nut and turn the Center with the appropriate Allen wrench.

Or call Gary Rinn at Survival Air Systems in Richmond or Clute and send him some hard earned green.

If its on an interstage separator it might be doing its job and bleeding off due to a leaky valve on the next stage. Might want to check that first.

Here is what the part looks like. Anyone seen this before?

It's very easy to adjust. Turn the nut a bit counterclockwise, then adjust the screw, then fix the nut again.

But as wwunder said: perhaps it does not need adjusment, perhaps it's doing its job as you have to high pressure. Check this first.
