Where is the best place to keep my safety sausage? I just got one and was wondering if the majority puts it in their BC pocket or mounts it somewhere?

Thanks

I could tell you, but then i would have to kill you. lol

I usually put it in my BC pocket. I have seen them tied off the BC, by the whistle.

I have other suggestions for the safety sausage, but this is a family board. lol

Depends on the size of the sausage. Some are so large they are unlikely to fit in a BC pocket.

That is Funny!!!!!

I have a pair of bungee loops on my BC waist band I slip it into (took some trial and error to get them setup right), it is also clipped to one of the loops, so if it slips out I just look like a dork and don’t lose it (it doesn't slip out any more). It won’t fit in my BC pocket as I don’t have any.

My "fire and forget" DSMB with crack bottle lives permanently attached and bungeed to my reel which is clipped onto a D-ring.

Unclip, unwrap,twist and away :)

I have rigged to "D" rings with zip ties to the seams of the cushion on my BC's backplate (I have an Oceanic Pro Tour), where I attach the sausage. It's easily reached and helps with streamlining.

Right hand side - bottom D Ring. But I have been warned to be careful about the type of clip used to do this. If it is of the spring lever type (and most are) it can get a line caught in it. The location is one that I think creates little drag and guarantees that I will be able to find and deploy the sausage, if the need arises. (I would put it in a BC pocket if I had the room, but I keep my message slate and flashlight in those).

In my BC pocket, Buddy DSMB and Buddy reel, fits snug ;)
