I've always wondered if the water is safe/clean to dive at Veterans in Redondo shortly after it rains? Do you have to wait a certain number of days or something?

here's the info you are looking for

http://www.healthebay.org/brc/gradehistory.asp?beach=48

looks like its not safe to dive there even when its dry. I would ignore the A grades under the wet column. btw, I'll be diving there once or twice this week.

in general, you should not dive near storm drains (e.g. - most of LA county) for 3 days after a heavy rain, because it overflows the sewage treatment centers, according to heal the bay. I personally have enjoyed many dives during the rain.

Empty V:
The same goes for herpes symplex 10. What movie is that from?

Billy

BH Cop. I believe the quote is (from memory.... so forgive me if I mangle it)

"... well tell Mr. Meetlan that Ramone just (justh) got back from the clinic, and I have Herpes Symplex 10. Tell him he best get himself checked before things start falling off the man...."

Followed closely by (BH Chief of Police) "is this the man that ruined the buffet at the Harrow Club....?"

I need a life.

Scott is right. Its NEVER safe to dive at Vets. Yet, I do a 50 to 75 dives a year there and don't even have Herpes Symplex 9.

That's not to say I'd do a mask drill at Vets.... ew.

That was euphoric Ken, thank you.

I forgot to add the response of the Harrow Club greeter...

Murphy (Ramone) {trying to gain access to the club brunch buffet}: "....Tell him he best get himself checked before things start falling off the man...."

Greeter: {repulsed} "Maybe you should go tell him yourself..."

Murphy: "I think its best (bethst...)"

Silly movie. The first one rocked.

It does tend to cause mutations but most of us consider the tentalces a useful enhancement.
