When you add an URL link in your post (with wwwexample.com as the picasa album link), you have :
|URL="http://www.example.com"]http://www.example.com[/URL|

Then you can change the second part to whatever you want :
|URL="http://www.example.com"]My album[/URL|

The result is :
My album

Solomons

I'll try that now although the first part is pretty long

Great it works. Thanks a lot

Ripseven,

That is so unusual! Everybody else seems to have the same experience with the shutter speed reverting back to max 1/500 right before the moment of firing and the EXIF indicates so. That is why I was so intrigued by the EXIF data on your posted images.

Is there anyone else getting the flash synch at shutter speeds higher than 1/500 on Can compacts ?

My EXIF shows 1/800. S95 in M-mode, flash on lowest setting. (This is without CHDK that will override the cam and fix the issue if wanted.)

Will test different flash settings and see if the "1/500 block" will occur then.

Thanks for Posting that Carl. Very Nice Photo!

I just tried it again. Manual Setting Canon S90 Flash set to 1/3 power and Shutter speed set at 1/1000/ When I do the half-press to get focus. On the LCD Screen, the shutter-speed will show it re-set to 1/500 and return to 1/1000 after the shot.

Does the same thing on Tv mode. I wonder if there is a menu setting that is controlling this.

Do you use you S95 with these settings regularly? Maybe the difference is my camera is an S90. I just checked and it clearly sates in the Manual on page 95 of the Canon S90 Manual.

I downloaded the S95 Manual and it does not mention the 1/500 shutter sync max. I am beginning to think there is a definite difference between the S90 and the S95 in the flash shutter sync speed.

Think you're onto something here. Remember my old A710is doing the "1/500 block" but the S95 never did it so far. Did not test the maximum shutter speed for my flashes yet but there's clearly a difference beteween 1/500 and 1/800 regarding the "blackness" of background.

This is pretty good news and maybe we should open a new thread and stop highjacking Ripsevens

Great pics ripseven!

Great shots, I like your eye for a good shot.
