Hello,

I must have something set wrong or I dont understand why when:

I half press the shutter button on my S90 I want it to lock the AE aperture, instead while keeping the shutter button half pressed if I move the camera from a lighter spurce to a darker one it automatically sets the aperture, instead I want the aperture to be locked when I half press the shutter button, this can be done right?

why it isnt working for me? I setted somethign wrong?

please explain me

thanks

mario

Hi, i can not force my camera to behave like you described, but try to swich 'safety shift' option to 'off'. May be this will help.

Mario... if the S90 responds the same as the S95 then there are three ways to lock exposure:
1) up arrow while holding shutter button half press (unlock by releasing half press and up arrow)
2) set the short cut button to AEL
3) set manual mode, meter and adjust your aperture and shutter speed.

Hi,

Guys i just turned on my s90 cam and it seems that it lost its "half press" position.
I am trying to set the configuration, or something but still nothing.
I am using it since a year without problems.
The "feeling" of the halfpress is there but its just shoot

Does anyone know why is it?
Thanks lot

Both of my S90 cameras lock exposure/focus just as you would expect on half press. This is in Av or Tv modes. I don't use Auto and I don't care about Program. Turn off the safety functions and take the cameras out of Auto/Program modes. If this is happening in Manual, yeah, well, duh.
