For a cold water below 40 F degree, you can have more benefit from Apeks with an Environmentally dry sealed system.

But, SP also has AF (no dry sealed) installed on the 1st stage. It will be fine with any type of recrational diving. I don't experience any free flow with SP in the cold water.
