Just returned from a dive trip and incurred the following problem. When I attached the front control ring on the S90 and inserted it in the housing, I would test it and find that sometimes it would work and sometimes it would slip. I would reseat it to make sure that it was inserted into the housing correctly. Sometimes it would work in one direction but not in the other, leaving me with a dial that was maxed out and no other way to change it. Sometimes it would work for a while and then it would start slipping. I had also purchased a spare ring and changed it out. Still no solution. I also made sure that it was put on correctly and not backwards. It was very annoying and really restricted the camera use.

Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone have a fix for this??

the first time i used mine i had the ring upside down and had the same issue - turned it the other way up and mine now works fine (there is no indication which way up to have it as far as i can see)

There should be a white dot on the ring that's located at the top, facing away from the camera.

Yup, know the issue. Mine came with a small molding lump on it, which made very good lock to the gears, but when you moved to that spot, it pushed the camera lens into the tube and caused a lens error. Removed the lump, and now it can slip (as there is nothing really connecting it except for friction). A couple of very tiny dots of glue that align with the gear teeth should fix that issue...as long as it does not cause the ring to be pushed up.
