RX100 with Snorkelling with Whales + dolphins in the South Pacific - advice please

The sightings of the humpback whales were there- but they were often brief and too far away. However, I did manage to spend a good 2 - 3 hours swimming with the dolphins. I took some photos and video but I'm not too pleased about them.

I shot in auto. The shutter speed was around 1/250. I think I may have gotten better results with a higher shutter speed.
