I just found out that I've been accepted to run in the NYC Marathon this year on November 3. My first reaction was excitement: Woo-hoo I made it in!

Then the panic struck in: I'm going to do what?? How many miles? hours? What if I don't make it? What was I thinking? Yikes!

I have 18 weeks left to train - Wish me luck!

Sandy

Shoot you could just come out here and run around our "block" once and get in a marathon....

Oh... to answer your question... yes :D

I still can't believe you are coming all the way out here and not going diving with me!!! :(

Good luck. Better you than me.

Luck, luck, luck - not that you need it roomie! Here's the plan. I meet you at the airport in FL -- throw your gear in the car and you run behind me to Wreckmania Central... well it's a plan..:D

Excellent plan! But you have to keep me company by driving at my pace (6 mph). You can roll down the windows, recline your seat all the way back, keep only one hand on the steering wheel at the 12:00 position, and blast some obnoxious head bopping music. Oh, don't forget cool shades. =-) (Can you tell I've done this before?)

Ok so we won't do it from the airport.... just back and forth from Wreckmania Central and the dive boat --- hehehehe

If that plan falls through, we' just have you running after the guys to keep them in line, I have a feeling that's going to be a full time job!

That's truly exciting. So what's the training schedule like. Have you run a marathon before? What kind of a running base do you have established, etc. Must have details!!! It sounds like fun (if your addicted to endorphins!) By the way. Good Luck!

Brief note for less sadistic members..... Marathon 26.2 miles, always. With a little practice, the human body can usually run 20 but the last 6.2 miles, or some say the last half, takes a little extra preparation.
