My husband and I are staying at the Royal Haciendas in Playa del Carmen the first week of Feb. I am an experienced diver, but he will be doing his ocean dives (referral) for his Open Water cert. I've never dove in PDC - did around 20 dives in Coz last fall but many were more advanced than he would be ready for. Does anyone know of a good instructor/dive op for us to use that will be close to our hotel? Also, are there any shore dives that he and I could do later in the week just to allow him to get some add'l practice in the later afternoons? I don't mind hanging in the shallower depths as he learns so that we can be dive buddies. Any recommendations for reefs to do or to avoid? Any info you can share is appreciated. We do both have all the necessary gear - yes, we bought his already. I'm counting on him lovin it....lol
