If anybody could help I would appreciate it. We are leaving next Saturday for a trip to Destin, Florida. The route we usually take is thru Jackson, MS down thru Hattiesburg, Mobile (I-10) and past Pensacola.

Can anybody tell me if the bridge in Mobile, AL (I-10) is closed due to the derrick hitting it from hurrican Katrina and also if there are any other possible delays?

Thanks,
Doug

I think that's the Africatown bridge in mobile. I think it's open...

according to this report, the damage was minimal and it's open

BTW... I'll be in Destin starting the afternoon of Oct 5th. I'm hooking
up with SeaYoda most likely for a spring dive on the afternoon of
the 6th. You are welcome to join us. Maybe another dive here
and there the rest of the week. Hopefully maybe a boat dive. dunno though.
the high tides are all after midnight, so not a good time for jetty diving.
Feel free to PM me for more info.

That was going to be my next thread. Which springs are you diving? I've heard of Vortex and I think Morrison? We dove the jetties in May and that was pretty good, we also went on a boat dive which was not so good. You cannot compare it to Cozumel of Playa del Carmen.

Where are the springs located?

Thx,
Doug
