FYI - planning to dive Round Valley at 9:30am this Saturday if interested. Water is still cold mid 50's but the season is upon us. If you do come - come early you will need to fill in some paperwork required by Round Valley before you dive - 10 mins to fill out the paperwork maximum.

Meet in the Scuba parking lot area next to the wooden guardrails - first row next to the water. One tank dive would be enough due to the water temps - I am diving wet.

Water was 47 degrees - 15 foot visibility - sunny and 73 degrees topside.

How's the driving here? Its 7 miles from my house and I have never really thought to dive here. Is there anything to see? I know the reservoir is quite deep and has quite a few wrecks in it.

To be honest it is rather dull compared to the ocean. Two things I like - it is much cheaper than Dutch Springs (but it has attactions) and is much closer with great viz.

It is good for "tuneup" diving or practicing any techniques you may want. There is a dive platform about 25 feet down (in the scuba parking lot walk down to the cedar tree) at the Cedar tree about a 45 degree heading will put you on the platform or find the white rope from the park bench left of the cedar tree and follow the rope to the platform.

Fish hang around the platform but not much else to see. The town that everyone talks about is in about 130 to 160 feet of water and only the cellars are there from what I am told.
