Rock boots new vs old?

Are there differences in the rock boots (older style I'm guessing) that have the shoe laces with the eyelets vs the new style that have the elastic loops?
Is it worth just getting the new boots?

Size differences (boots or fins needed)?
Flexibility?

What kind of rock boots are you referring to? DUI's version? If you are referring to DUI's boots I like them. The only issue I have had with them is the plastic cinch on the laces broke last winter on both of my boots. I think they were just cold and cracked. I emailed DUI and got 3 or 4 replacements in the mail in about 3-4 days.
