I was slightly disappointed to learn that they modified the deluxe twin cabin layouts on the Rocio del Mar recently. Whereas twin cabins used to have two single beds parallel to each other on the same level with a table in-between, it looks like they now have an L-shaped configuration with the bunks at upper and lower levels "overlapping" at the bottom end. I generally prefer the former arrangement.

Has anyone been on the boat with the 'old' and 'new' cabin layouts and if so, is the change for the better or worse? I have a booking with them on a Socorro trip next year.

I didn't see the old arrangement, but I was struck with how much floor space the new arrangement allows in the cabins. It seemed awfully nice for the folks who had big camera rigs they needed to play with. We had one of the bow cabins, and we had very little floor space.

i returned from an rdm trip a couple of weeks ago. An excellent trip. Am thinking about writing up a trip report.

the standard twin cabins are as you described, with the overlap. They are fine. No idea about the 'deluxe ' cabins as I did not get to see them.

Our trip was cut short by hurricane Amanda - so I'm thinking of going back next spring to complete the trip. If you have any specific questions about rdm, please post or pm and I'll do my best to help you.
