I'm a Fish!
Sad to see this. I never interacted w/ Doc aka Roatan Man, but I certainly was aware of him as a regular poster. He appears to have led a full life and was well loved throughout. RIP.

Ah, this is sad…I met him on my first trip to CCV, and he was incredibly kind. I was traveling with my father, who was having trouble diving (we found out later he was having micro seizures). I’ll never forget surfacing from a drop-off dive one day, and Doc running up to greet me saying, “We saw your dad hovering in perfect trim off the Prince Albert!” He was just beaming.

I still carry the magnifying glass he gifted me on that trip, and stayed in loose touch over the years here and on the CCV FB group…can think of no better way to remember him than to go slow and shallow on your next dive, and look for the small stuff that he loved.

To the next adventure, Doc…

Fair winds forever. I had several conversations with Doc regarding our common experiences in Honduras. RIP, and may we meet at the great reef in the sky.

I met him several times at CCV. Fascinating guy. I still have his credit card sized maps of the back yard. The board will be a little less interesting without him. He was a great resource about all things Roatan.

He was a real character. His Roatan advice was unsurpassed. When I finally decided to try CCV, he sent me copies of those hand-drawn maps. I wish I had gotten to meet him in person. RIP, Doc aka Roatan Man.

Passed through O’hare for the last time.

Fair winds, Doc

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

He was a huge help on my first trip to Roatan this past December.

RIP indeed. He was a memorable and helpful presence at my one and only trip to CCV.
