The significance of the conviction cannot be overstated. Even though the sentence is farcical, the fact that he is guilty is not arguable in a civil suit, and I anticipate justice. He should be hit with a settlement beyond his insurance limits and for much of his future earnings. He was referring to the Hippocratic oath that is a tradition to recite upon graduation of Med School.I don't think the Good Samaritan law applies here, Tim. Perhaps ( I don't know about FL law ) medical professionals have "a duty to act" when they see something like this. A typical citizen does not have a duty to act, but can't be held for rendering assistance so long as they are acting in good faith.
